CONCRETE & PATIOS

The Foundation of Every Outdoor Space

intro right
Outdoor concrete work covers patio extensions, new slabs, walkways, and equipment pads. Each project involves demolition of existing surfaces, base preparation with proper compaction, drainage and slope engineering, control joint placement, and a choice of finish options. Below, we explain what each step involves so you know what to expect.

Demolition & Site Prep

Controlled removal of old concrete or soil, with debris hauled from site.

Base Preparation

Excavation, compaction, and aggregate base with rebar or mesh reinforcement.

Drainage & Slope

Minimum slope away from structures with surface water routed to collection points.

Control Joints & Finish

Tooled or saw-cut joints at calculated intervals, plus your choice of surface finish.

HOW WE WORK

From Demolition to Finish

Demolition

Every outdoor concrete project starts with proper demolition. We remove existing slabs, old pavers, or damaged surfaces using controlled methods that protect surrounding landscaping and structures. Debris is hauled away and the site is cleared down to native soil, ready for grading.

Base Preparation

A durable slab depends on what’s underneath. We excavate to the correct depth, compact the subgrade, and install a layer of crushed aggregate base material. Rebar or wire mesh reinforcement is placed according to the load requirements of your specific project – whether it’s a patio, walkway, or equipment pad.

Drainage & Slope

Water management is built into every pour. We engineer a minimum slope away from your home’s foundation and route surface drainage toward appropriate collection points. For larger patios connected to outdoor living spaces, we coordinate drainage with the overall landscape grading plan.

Control Joints

Concrete naturally expands and contracts with temperature changes. Control joints are tooled or saw-cut into the slab at calculated intervals to direct any cracking along predetermined lines – keeping your surface looking clean for years. Joint spacing depends on slab thickness and exposure conditions.

Finish Options

The final surface treatment defines the look and function of your concrete. We offer standard broom finish for slip resistance, smooth trowel for a polished appearance, exposed aggregate for texture, and stamped patterns that complement your outdoor design. A protective sealant is applied to guard against weathering and staining.
